geyser
Crystal Geyser is an unusual cold water geyser (powered by carbon dioxide) that erupts approximately every 12-16 hours. It’s a good sign if the water is bubbling madly and the basin overflows occasionally, but it still could be several hours before the geyser erupts.
The geyser was created accidentally during a drilling operation in 1935. The odd landscape in the surrounding area was created by the mineral-rich waters of the geyser. These rust-colored terraces are called travertine.
Visitors can walk around and explore the travertine landscape, but please be respectful. Do not put rocks or other items in the geyser.
