Climbing & Bouldering

Looking to challenge your stamina, endurance, and fear of heights? Then the Swell is the place to be. The region offers a wide array of bouldering problems, most notably those in Joes Valley. The Valley is one of the world’s premier bouldering destinations. The rock is textured but skin-friendly, and the approaches are almost all five minutes or less.

Rock climbing opportunities in the Swell are varied and full of adventure. From the Buckhorn Wash with Wingate crack climbing to the Sandstone Alps of the San Rafael Reef, the opportunity to get out and get up is everywhere.

The Utah desert is canyon country, where water has cut through the various sandstones, mudstones and limestones, and provide exploratory challenges spanning moderate to difficult in both length and technicality. Those new to canyoneering can test their rappelling skills at the Goblin’s Lair or Eye of Sinbad, while expert adventurers can explore the desolate beauty of Robbers Roost.
